As festival season approaches, so does the time to prep and think about how many loo rolls would you need, yet the main question you will be asking yourself is ‘what am I going to wear?’ It can be stressful during this time of the year if your heading to just more than one festival like the headbanger you are, yet if your simple lad or an extra gal then you have come to the right place, just make sure you pack your wellies too!
Sequins
Shine bright under the lights in sequins and embrace your inner mermaid or merman. Sequins have become a staple when it comes to festival fashion, with its power to become a human disco ball and the life of the party. This trend originates from the roaring 1920’s where everything was all glitz and glam, whereas now today sequins are a trend which can take form of many occasions while still looking fabulous.

Rainbow
If being loud and proud describes you, then this trend is for you. Associated with pride month (June) and the actual rainbow in the sky, wearing the rainbow trend shows off your bubbly, bold and creative style. This trend exploded into the 2000’s with many designer’s featuring the rainbow trend on the runways such as Burberry’s 2018 LGBTQ+ tribute collection and the Ashish A/W17 collection featuring religion, politics, slogans and of course rainbows.

Neon
This retro, nostalgic trend made an impact this year with the trend dating back to the 90’s, with kitschy geometric prints and block colours. This year on the runway for Spring/Summer19 we saw many designer’s such as Jeremy Scott, Henry Holland, Armani and Julien McDonald take us on an acid trip on the runway with the neon trend perfect for this festival season, for standing out or making a statement.

Glitter
Now no festival look is complete without at least some glitter incorporated into your look, whenever you want to go all out or just show your festival spirit, glitter is the way to go. You can now be helpful towards the environment and use biodegradable glitter which is easy and quick to break down than normal glitter formulas, so you can be conscious while you shine.

Bum bags
Of course you cannot not forget a bum bag, important for all those essentials while you are living it up hands free with a drink in your hand while listening to your favourite artists. The bum bag became popularised back in 2018 and is a staple today in festival fashion, perfect for when you don’t want to be fiddling around with your bag and excellent for a stash of snacks on the go.
