As soon as one fashion week closes, another opens, and Milan is always sure to shine in the uber fashion stakes.
Being a designer by day it’s always difficult to choose which show to talk about, but this morning there was no question.
FENDI.
If someone put a heart monitor on me right now you would think I’d done a HITT class this morning – OK maybe its the coffee I’m drinking but – I AM EXCITED.
With the slow uprising of early noughties style dressing it’s only right that Fendi would be creating a buzz. Why? It could be argued that Fendi created the very first ‘IT’ bag – The Baguette, seen on anyone and everyone when it was born in 1997. Add to this the return of the monogram trend and Fendi has to be a logo to go to.
This week’s Spring Summer 19 show looked fresh, clean, and more importantly, YOUNG!
Silvia Venturini Fendi and Karl Lagerfeld have taken notice of their new target audience and provided a collection both wearable and fun.
Heavily focused on utility styling the show kicked off with a transparent raincoat adorned with tan pockets and worn by the model of the moment Adwoa Aboah. Following Aboah we see Kendall Jenner, Kaia Gerber and the Hadid sisters, proof that the brand is listening to their new audience and including these social media queens. The collection included blazers, cycling shorts, midi skirts and crop tops, all of which have been this Summers must-have pieces, so it’s great to see that these pieces have longevity and we can grow our wardrobe between seasons. The palette moved these pieces forward with earthy tans, oranges and creams for a much slicker, sophisticated look. Teamed together with multi-pocket handbags and mini belt bags thrown over your shoulder you can stick a fork in me now because … I AM DONE.
